The world building is phenomenal and all the characters, whether primary or secondary, just leap off the page because the imagery is so vivid and alive. ![]() Kate becomes more multi-dimensional with each book in the series. Kate's entire life, from the time she could walk, has been spent training for one purpose and we get a glimpse into what the training was like in this book. She's willing to die for the people she can't help but care about and yet, she wonders what it would be like to have someone she can really trust in her life to come home to. I just finished reading this book again for the umpteenth time and I love it as much now as I did when I read it for the first time! I was up until 1:11 AM this morning reading it because I just couldn't put it down - that's how good it is! I love Kate Daniels because she's tough when she has to be and yet, she's achingly lonely. ![]() The Kate Daniels Series Just Keeps Getting Better ![]()
